This museum delineates the historical development of the town of Farnese, with particular attention to the archaeological sites of the "Selva del Lamone" (Lamone Wood). In this structure, you can find records of the ancient civilisations that have inhabited the areas, i.e. interesting prehistoric and protostoric finds which allow to faithfully reconstruct the habits and customs of the inhabitants in the Bronze Age. Moreover, objects which date back to the Etruscan Age provide visitors with meaningful information about the religious and social life of the Etruscans, while painted majolicas found in the "butti" (pits) of the historical centre date back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period of the town of Farnese.
The visit to the museum cannot end without an excursion to the "Selva del Lamone" where you can admire the main archaeological sites from which come most of the finds exhibited in the exposition.
