This museum, composed of two separated sections, an archaeological one and another devoted to folk traditions, documents the history of the town, from its Etruscan origins to the medieval and Renaissance development.
The archaeological section depicts the history of the built-up area of Civita, i.e. the village pre-existent to the present town, and houses an exposition of finds from the most important necropolis.
The section devoted to folk traditions keep track of the history of the development of the present town.
You can complete the visit to the museum by an excursion to the archaeological park of Pienezze, a necropolis from which come many of the finds exhibited in the museum, and where you can find meaningful records of the architecture and the funeral rite of the Etruscans.
